I just bought my first Teecycle shirt!

See that Columbia University one in the corner? Yep. It’s mine! ALLLLLLLLL mine! (Don’t tell any Columbia alum…but I plan on chopping it up a bit so it’s a slouchy, one shouldered sexpot shirt. Because I keep it klassy.)

This note is to warn you of a diabolical plot entered into by some of our so called friends - (ha!) calendar makers and even our own children. These and others would have you believe we’ve been married 20 years.

Right now I feel like my head is a giant hot air balloon that keeps getting bounced around by passing planes & giant pterodactyls & twistahs & you know….,etc. That’s what untreated crazy-ass ADD feels like….(it’s untreated because my doctor refuses to give out meds saying the side effects far outweigh the effectiveness……Calling Dr. Jerkmuffin.)

Anyhoo….I have a ton of really fun, really exciting projects in the works….they’re all creative and schpecial and making my head feel like a gyroscope on speed.

What do do when you have speedy gyroscope-head?

Distract yourself with pretty things….but of course! So here is the pretty thing in front of my face at the moment. I love me some buntings…and I love me some letters….so BIPPITY-BOPPITY-BOOP! I present to you FREE DOWNLOADABLE BUNTING LETTERS! Yay!

That’s not the Gulf of Mexico above. Those are ariel shots of the shores of Lake Michigan in my city of Milwaukee, WI. The discoloring? A recent dump of 506 million gallons of partially treated sewage after a summer rain storm.

Yeah. That’s not a typo. That’s HALF A BILLION GALLONS.

To put it in perspective, the oil spill in the Gulf has leaked approximately 300 million gallons of oil since the tragedy occurred 3 months ago.

That’s 300 million over three months.

Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District polluted our fresh water lake with over one & 1/2 times that in ONE DAY.

In addition, on June 15th, it rained (crazy, I know)….MMSD dumped 23.6 million gallons. On July 7th, another 1.56 million gallons was flushed into our giant toilet….aka Lake Michigan.

Did I mention that the Lake is the source of Milwaukee’s drinking water? Uh huh. Eww.

The stinkiest part of this story is the lack of action by our city’s leaders.

Our beaches are not safe & we treat one of the most unique treasures in the entire country as our glorified port-a-pottie. Where is the outrage? We boycott & protest BP stations. When will we boycott & protest Milwaukee’s leadership & the complete failure that is Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District? We blindly watch images after images like the ones above on the evening news. We joke at the stench & the closed beaches.

It’s disgusting. It’s embarrassing. It’s shitty.

Maybe Kevin Costner has a poop skimmer we can use?
